Culture Studies in English Language and Literature

Culture Studies is a significant interdisciplinary study that explores the complex dynamics of culture and its social, political, economic, and historical foundations. The study tries to analyse how culture operates through various cultural processes, rituals, conflicts, and ideological representations across various societal institutions, hierarchies, identities, and practices. Culture is not studied in isolation but in relation to the constantly evolving practises that shape the modern society and its milieu. 

The present course will analyse the academic genre through its establishment and how it emerged as a significant pathway to understand and re-establish culture as a text in itself, and how it re-shaped the theoretical approach to analyse culture, its practices, and ideological representations.

This course aims to enable learners to use the correct form of prepositions according to specific situations or contexts. The object of the course is to aid the learner in using prepositions in everyday conversations and other academic or professional settings.

The Course would like to introduce the direct indirect speech of English grammar in an interactive way. 

Linguistics - Phrase Structure Grammar

This course is intended to provide a simple comprehension regarding the Chomskyan concept of Phrase Structure Grammar (PSG). The modules include the definition, illustration, constituents, limitations and advantages of PSG. 

PREPOSITIONS

The Short Term Course on Prepositions is effective in understanding the usage of correct form of preposition in sentences according to context. This will enable the students to have a greater understanding of sentence construction withour fumbling and causing a break in the due course of communication.
